Measuring by Light - International Conference

Polytec invites to the 2nd bi-yearly edition of "Measuring by Light” 2015. A two day international conference on optical measurement techniques, which will take place on November 18 and 19, 2015. This year, the event will take place at Shell Rijswijk, in co-operation with Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Polytec GmbH, Polytec Benelux and Shell and a co-operation with TNO in Delft. Following the success and positive feedback we received for Measuring by Light 2013, we want to keep the format similar. The conference aim is to provide a platform, where both Industry and Academics can discuss on novel measurement techniques and solutions, bridging needs and requirements for both.

We aim to do this by providing a highly technical programme on state-of-the-art optical measuring techniques from a wide variety of fields. Additionally, we believe it is important to offer an informal atmosphere and the right networking tools, enabling our participants to actively expand their network. One such tool, is an event called Speed Matching. You will find more information on Speed Matching under the dedicated link on this website. Following Measuring by Light 2013, several co-operations have started among participants who sat at the same table during a Speed Matching session.

We are building up the programme and looking for speakers who might contribute with their expertise in the following fields:

  • Energy exploration, generation & distribution
  • Turbine testing
  • NDT
  • Automotive & aerospace
  • Microstructures
  • Bio-Medical Applications - Ultrasound
  • Condition Monitoring, Quality Control, Maintenance
  • Sensor and Actuator Development, Micro and Macro
  • Modal Analysis
  • State-Of-The-Art and Future Measurement Systems
  • Wave Propagation, Ultrasound, Structural Damage Detection
  • Civil Engineering/Large Structures Applications
  • Composite Materials
  • Measurement Techniques: Interferometry: e.g. Laser Doppler Vibrometry, Holography, Optical Fiber Sensing: e.g. Fiber Bragg Gratings, Distributed Fiber Sensing, Raman Spectroscopy

If you have an interesting application you would like to present, you are more than welcome to send an abstract. Please click on the link in the website menu for details to submit an abstract. The organizing committee will decide if your contribution fits the programme. If not, you are of course more than welcome to register as a participant for this event.
