Maxphotonics opens Business, Service & Innovation Center Europe
Hub near Munich offers customized tests for special welding processes and materials, faster delivery of spare parts thanks to on-site warehouse and logistics.
The Chinese laser manufacturer Maxphotonics has opened its new European headquarters in Gilching near Munich, underlining the company’s commitment to the European market. In addition to replacement lines available directly on site, a center for innovation and training is also being built in Gilching. Here, customers and partners will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest laser technologies from the company and receive further training in practical courses. In addition, an experienced team of sales and service experts will be on hand to provide customers with help and advice.

The laser manufacturer was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Shenzhen, China. The company specializes in the research and development, production and sale of high-power fiber lasers with up to 85 kilowatts, suitable for welding and cutting.
In addition to in-house laser production, co-operation with numerous European and local partners also plays an important role. Maxphotonics not only manufactures optical laser components that deliver precise and controlled optical signals for the production of laser sources, laser instruments and laser material processing, but also sources these from other suppliers. The company also relies on this network for the procurement of materials and production technologies. With offices worldwide serving more than a thousand customers in over eighty countries, Maxphotonics is a leader in the global fiber laser market and holds a total of 550 patents and 23 software copyrights.
“We offer high-quality, modern laser technology at affordable prices that is easy and safe to use,” says Dr Klaus Krastel, global director for welding at Maxphotonics. “This saves our customers time, energy and therefore money. With our promise to respond to service enquiries within three hours and to complete repairs within 36 hours, we are also setting new standards in service. In this way, we are helping companies to remain competitive.” In future, the application lab will also offer the opportunity to set up and test almost all laser material processing processes on customized materials and components, to analyze and document them. In addition to microscopic images, metallographic methods are also available for this purpose.
Maxphotonics’ product portfolio essentially comprises the three laser groups cw and pulsed fiber lasers as well as mobile laser welding systems. All offer a very good watt-per-euro ratio and are primarily used in mechanical engineering and the automotive industry.
