Global boom in service robots
Global sales of professional service robots rose by 9% to just under 200,000 units, driven by the shortage of skilled workers and demographic change.

Robots for transportation, hospitality, cleaning and medical applications are particularly in demand. The robot-as-a-service fleet grew by 31%, as companies are increasingly opting for rental models. In the transportation sector, 102,900 units were sold, an increase of 14%, while robots in the hospitality industry recorded a decline of 11%.
Cleaning robots increased by 34 percent and demand for medical robots rose by 91 percent. The market for household robots also grew by 11 percent in the private sector. The report "World Robotics - Service Robots" by the International Federation of Robotics offers comprehensive insights into the developments and challenges of the market, but warns against extrapolating the sample data to the entire industry.
