First access for external users to the QSolid quantum computer

The prototype of the QSolid quantum computer, developed by scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich and partners such as the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS, has been successfully integrated into the JUNIQ infrastructure of the Jülich Supercomputing Center.

From now on, external users will be able to use the prototype for a two-week test phase. Cloud-based access will be provided via the JuDoor platform, with the quantum computer currently comprising 10 qubits. This development is a significant step for the German quantum ecosystem. The system integration was made possible by the close collaboration between research institutes and industrial partners.

Fraunhofer IPMS contributes to the development of future quantum processors, among other things through cryogenic characterization of CMOS circuits. Industrial partners such as ParTec and HQS Quantum Simulations will participate in the test phase. The success of the QSolid project should underline Germany's role in quantum research.
