EPIC Sustainability Award 2026 for Jenoptik
The organization thus recognizes sustainability as a central component of its corporate strategy

According to Katrin Fleischer, Manager Investor Relations & Sustainability at Jenoptik, the company uses photonics solutions to support customers in reducing emissions, increasing efficiency and conserving resources in various industries.
Since 2020, Jenoptik has significantly expanded its sustainability activities and introduced structured non-financial targets. A Group-wide sustainability strategy was established in 2020/2021 on the basis of existing environmental and safety standards (including ISO certifications). Measures range from energy-efficient production solutions and the use of renewable energies to products such as low-energy traffic monitoring systems for sustainable cities. In addition, a 400 million euro promissory bill is linked to ESG targets, and Jenoptik has been a member of the UN Global Compact since 2021.
In addition to environmental aspects, Jenoptik attaches great importance to social responsibility and good corporate governance: commitment to the Diversity Charter, promotion of an inclusive working environment and investment in employee development underline this approach.
Representatives of the EPIC Sustainability Workgroup - including Katharina Zeuner (Eclipse Optics), Estefania Cervantes (Edmund Optics) and Elisabeth Illy (HÜBNER Photonics) - emphasized Jenoptik's role model function, the exchange within the network and the importance of sustainable innovations in photonics. EPIC Director General Carlos Lee emphasized that Jenoptik demonstrates how sustainability can be consistently integrated into the business strategy and at the same time achieve a measurable impact.
