Epic CEO Award 2026 for head of light conversion
The European Photonics Industry Consortium (Epic) has honored Martynas Barkauskas with the Epic CEO Award 2026
The committee consists exclusively of previous award winners and recognizes leaders who demonstrate entrepreneurial strength, resilience and long-term innovation strategies in the photonics sector.
Barkauskas has been CEO of Light Conversion since 2019. Under his leadership, the company has grown to almost 800 employees, the production and development areas have been expanded and turnover has risen from around 50 to over 130 million US dollars. The company specializes in ultrashort pulse laser technology and addresses both scientific and industrial applications.
Barkauskas holds a PhD in ultrafast spectroscopy and pump-probe metrology. Since joining the company in 2009, he has held positions as development engineer, head of the service team in the laser department and head of sales before taking on the role of CEO.
