Edmund Optics partners with Meta Materials

Through the new partnership, Edmund Optics now offers holographic notch filters

Edmund Optics has partnered with Meta Materials to add large, flexible holographic notch filters to its portfolio. “Meta Materials' collaboration with major OEMs for product and technology development, coupled with Edmund Optics' distribution capabilities for optics, imaging and photonics products, creates an easy way for global customers to try this new and exciting technology. Edmund Optics is very excited to be working with Meta Materials,” said Ed Kay, Vice President Retail Marketplace at Edmund Optics. George Palikaras, President and CEO of Meta Materials, added, “We are excited about the new partnership that will allow us to offer Edmund Optics customers our high-quality holographic notch filters. This makes the filters available to engineers and scientists around the world for use in multiphoton microscopy, laser-based fluorescence devices and other life science applications.”

The Meta Holooptix notch filters offer constant notch filter central wavelengths for s- and p-polarization even at high angles of incidence - a unique property that distinguishes them from other comparable filters. Two different versions are available: Flex and Strata. FLEX notch filters have a large, flexible design that can be easily integrated into systems of almost any shape or size. Strata notch filters are housed in a standard 1” diameter black anodized aluminum ring. The filters are optimized for high transmission for either red, green or blue laser lines. The non-transmitted light is blocked with an average optical density of >4.
