Change of management at imec
The company has appointed Patrick Vandenameele as its new CEO.

From April 1, 2026, he will succeed Luc Van den hove, who will take over as Chairman of the Board of Directors after 17 years as CEO. This transition has been carefully prepared to ensure a seamless handover and to safeguard imec's strategic continuity.
Patrick Vandenameele, who has been with imec since 1996 and most recently served as Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Operating Officer, will assume full leadership responsibility. He brings extensive experience in R&D strategy and deep tech. In his new role, Luc Van den hove will lead the Executive Board and provide strategic advice.
Luc Van den hove expresses confidence in Patrick's ability to lead imec into a new era characterized by artificial intelligence and systems technologies. Patrick Vandenameele looks forward to continuing to position imec as a leading center for nanoelectronics and digital technologies and to strengthen collaboration with partners.
