Ametek Surface Vision Appoints New Global Manager

Ametek Surface Vision has announced the appointment of Volker Koelmel to the role of Global Manager – Plastics, Nonwovens & Paper. Responsible for the strategic management of these dynamic market segments, Volker will spearhead the development and implementation of new strategies to support Surface Vision’s worldwide customer base.

Following a successful three years as Global Applications Engineering Manager, Volker’s critical role supports the Surface Vision sales team, nurturing new customers andVolker Koelmel creating retention programs for existing users of Surface Vision’s SmartView and SmartAdvisor automated inspection solutions.

His extensive knowledge of the surface inspection industry from both an engineering and logistical perspective will enable him to apply all Surface Vision’s global expertise to solving customer challenges.

Volker’s career in surface inspection began in 1993 as a Product Manager for Isys Surface Inspection Technology, Europe. Prior to his first role at Ametek Surface Vision as Global Application Engineering Manager, Volker spent 19 years at Cognex, where he held several roles of increasing responsibility, from Project Manager to Global Applications Engineering Manager within the Surface Inspection System division.
