The laboratory enables European customers to test and optimize laser-based processes on site. Dipl.-Ing. Oliver Hentschel heads the laboratory and has over twelve years of experience in laser and photonics research. He is responsible for the technical expansion of the laboratory and the implementation of customer trials. The heart of the laboratory is an ultrashort pulse laser system from Light Conversion, which is used for demanding applications in semiconductor, electronics and medical technology.

The laboratory offers a platform for feasibility studies, process optimization and test series under realistic conditions. Customers can check directly whether and how their applications can be implemented. An assembly line for drive and control components has also been set up in order to respond more flexibly to customer requirements.

The new location strengthens Aerotech's presence in Europe and offers shorter distances, direct coordination and flexible scheduling. The company plans to further expand the laboratory's equipment in the coming years and develop it into a European competence center for micro material processing.
