Point Grey with New USB 3.0 Model

Point Grey announces the addition of an exciting new model to its popular line of Flea3 USB 3.0 cameras. This newest Flea3 model uses the fast and sensitive EV76C560 global shutter CMOS image sensor from e2v to deliver high quality 1.3 MP images at 60 FPS. The FL3-U3-13E4C/M-C provides a global shutter mode for distortion-free motion capture and an electronic rolling shutter mode for low read noise and improved dynamic range. It is ideal for applications that require fast frame rates and high image quality, such as 3D scanning, characterization of parts, and eye or gesture tracking. The camera's CMOS image sensor makes the camera well-suited for outdoor imaging applications, such as intelligent traffic systems, where smear must be minimized.

Point Grey's Flea3 camera line measures just 29 x 29 x 30 mm and provides a unique set of features dedicated to maximizing USB 3.0 reliability, including a 32 megabyte frame buffer; on-camera power, temperature, and status monitoring; and in-field updatable firmware. The camera also provides a full image processing pipeline, including color interpolation, look up table, gamma correction, pixel binning functionality, and more.

The Flea3 FL3-U3-13E4C/M-C (color and monochrome) model is list priced at USD $725 and is available to order now from Point Grey and its network of distributors.
