New GigE Camera Family

Basler introduces the new GigE scout2 camera family with Power over Ethernet (PoE) and a novel color image enhancement concept with advanced color features.

The scout2 series is the next generation of Basler's scout series. It benefits from Basler's extensive experience designing and building the well-established scout GigE camera series, which will remain available in its current form. These new cameras address applications that are price sensitive.

Basler scout2 cameras are primarily equipped with monochrome and color Sony CCD sensors that have resolutions from VGA to 2 megapixels and image capture rates up to 120 frames per second. They feature a compact 29 mm x 44 mm x 85 mm housing with Power over Ethernet functionality.

The scout2 color models include a novel color fidelity enhancement concept with advanced color features, which makes them an ideal fit for color applications. These features allow easy, detailed color adjustments to achieve very realistic color reproduction.

The scout2 can be used in a broad set of applications such as semiconductor and component inspection, manufacturing quality control, intelligent traffic systems, microscopy and medical imaging, and many others.
