Modular M12 connector concept for GigE Vision camera series

For all harsh conditions Matrix Vision has introduced the mvBlueCougar-X POE-I with a modular M12 industrial connector concept.

One connector holds the power supply and the digital inputs and outputs (four opto-coupled inputs and four robust high side solid state relays), the other one the Ethernet connection (x-coded). The camera is powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet) or by an external 12..24 VDC compliant power supply. Depending on the used sensor, the camera uses less than 6.5 W.

This concept makes it possible to replace the complete back plate including all connectors (power supply/digital I/O's and x-coded Ethernet) - this represents a new way of product flexibility. With a customized back plate, for example, it is possible to integrate the mvBlueCougar-X POE-I in a customer-specific protective housing.

Based on this concept Matrix Vision offers a first IP67 stainless steel housing.
