Coherent introduces the Obis Core LS laser. The Obis Core LS offers the reliability and performance of Coherent’s unique Optically-Pumped Semiconductor Laser (OPSL) technology in a new, scaled-down package optimized for analytical instrumentation of all kinds. With over 50,000 installations globally, OPSL technology is the most successful continuous wave laser architecture in analytical instrumentation today.The exciting new Obis Core LS measures a miniscule 52 mm x 27 mm x 12 mm—a volume reduction of 84% relative to the standard OBIS—yet delivers uncompromising output power and beam quality at a variety of biologically-useful wavelengths ranging from 488 nm to 594 nm.

Coherent anticipates that the Obis Core LS will be the preferred laser for ultra-compact, laser-based optical subsystems by virtue of size, reduced heat load, and integrated smart electronics, as well as the incomparable reliability and performance of OPSL technology.
