IO-Link radar sensors for level measurement

The new devices with degree of protection IP67 / 69K are particularly recommended for level applications in factory automation, in which optical or ultrasonic sensors are unsuitable due to their limited range or due to disruptive factors such as dust, wind or incidence of light. The unshielded LRS radar sensors also offer detailed analysis functions that were previously reserved for the high-end radar sensors mostly used in the process industry. Dispensing with a metal guide rod favors use in hygienic areas and simplifies commissioning.

Without additional software, users of the Turck IO-Link masters can call up the radar monitor via the IODD Configurator. The browser-based configuration tool shows the measurement curve of the sensor graphically and offers plain text access to all relevant parameters. For example, the interfering signal from an agitator or grille can easily be masked out or the sensor can be perfectly aligned using real-time feedback in order to maximize the reliability of the level detection in challenging applications.
