Enhanced Camera Integration with Modular PoE Daughterboard
IDS Imaging Development Systems has expanded its modular camera concept with a remote GigE PoE board, simplifying the integration of uEye cameras by enabling power supply and Gigabit Ethernet data transmission through a single cable.
This PoE daughterboard connects to the motherboard of the GigE uEye LE and uEye SLE series via a flexible interface. Instead of a bulky connector block, a flat ribbon cable connects the motherboard to the remote interface electronics, allowing sensor and optics placement independent of power and data connections. This is particularly advantageous for custom or space-constrained designs.
The PoE daughterboard uses an RJ45 connector for single-cable operation, combining power and data transfer, thus offering greater convenience and flexibility in housing designs. Key features include Gigabit Ethernet with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE, IEEE 802.3af), compatibility with specific uEye camera models, and benefits like space-saving integration and reduced cabling.
