With the Nion, IDS presents a 3D time-of-flight camera that combines high data density with reliable depth accuracy thanks to a sensor resolution of 1.2 MP. It delivers high-resolution and temporally stable depth information at 30 fps—even during fast movements and under changing lighting conditions.

Compared to many commercially available TOF cameras with VGA sensors, the higher XY resolution enables a finer representation of structures. Edges appear clearer, and objects are reliably detected and identified by size and shape—ideal for logistics or mobile robotics, where objects must be reliably identified and handled automatically.

A key feature is the sensor’s internal depth calculation. The fast exposure of the phase images without readout delays ensures sharp, stable depth data even during motion. This enables high throughput at high processing speeds.

With active illumination in the 940-nm range, the camera delivers consistent results even under changing lighting conditions. A single camera thus covers both indoor and outdoor applications. The robust IP67-rated housing allows for reliable use in demanding industrial environments. Thanks to GigE Vision and the IDS Peak software, the Nion can be quickly and easily integrated into existing machine vision systems and used flexibly.
