High-Speed Digital Camera

The Lightning RDT and Lightning RDT-PLUS camera system combine high-speed digital video, intuitive camera control software and powerful analytical functions with the capability of an “off-the-shelf” PC or laptop to provide an integrated, high-speed imaging system with sufficient performance and flexibility to address a wide range of motion analysis requirements.

Consisting of a small high speed camera head, detachable cable and custom frame grabber board, the Lightning RDT captures 1280 x 1024 resolution images at 500 full frames per second (fps). A fast 16.000 fps can be achieved at reduced resolution for recording extremely rapid events. Even faster capture of up to 100.000 fps can be achieved with the RDT-PLUS camera system. The RDT-PLUS is working with a 512x512 sensor providing 5.000 fps at full frame.

The Lightning RDT/RDT-PLUS is bundled with Midas 2.0 software from Xcitec, Inc., enabling operators to easily control up to 16 cameras simultaneously, perform vital motion analysis and save digital video data in a variety of different file formats. Optional Midas 2.0 modules provide the synchronization of high-speed video with instrumentation data from a wide range of sensors, gauges, tachometers, encoders and other devices.
