High Resolution Vision Sensors

Two new 1.3 megapixel vision sensors from Banner Engineering allow highly detailed automated inspection of large parts for about half the cost of comparable units. Priced below € 2,800, the Presence Plus P4 Geo and Edge 1.3 sensors capture minute details of multiple features at ranges from a few centimetres up to several metres (depending on lens used). As a result, one unit can perform inspections that formerly required multiple sensing devices. The P4Geo checks for geometric pattern match over a large search area, while the P4Edge identifies transitions between light and dark areas along a line, providing a simpler but faster inspection. Able to detect subtle difference in target features, the sensors are designed for quality control use in industries requiring defect-free products.
