Drive solutions for the warehouse of the future

The gear specialists Nabtesco and Balance Drive are also on board, because gearboxes will play a key role in solving the complex drive engineering challenges in the warehouse of the future. With its broad precision portfolio, its robotics expertise (market share of 60 percent) and its engineering competence, Nabtesco is a partner for the development of innovative automation solutions. The transmission specialist with its European headquarters in Düsseldorf offers a fully integrated and decentralized drive unit with a Mecanum wheel, which guarantees omnidirectional maneuverability and thus maximum mobility, especially for driverless transport systems (AGV). Nabtesco's transmission expertise in the “Intelligent Dark Warehouse” project is complemented by Balance Drive's construction experience.

Further partners are: ABB, Gilgen Logistics, Miebach Consulting, Rapp Industrieplaner, Westernacher Consulting, Alloga, Emmi, Ikea, the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences, the Logistikum Schweiz and the Technical University of Munich. The project is scheduled to run for four years.
