Chromasens: High Speed 3D Color Imaging

Chromasens developed a new 3D imaging technology based on stereo images using high speed color line scan cameras for image acquisition. Fast stereo algorithms running on GPUs calculate the 3D data from the two stereo images in real time. Optimized for GPUs the algorithm computes up to 200 million 3D data per second. With the tri-linear CCD line scan cameras from Chromasens high resolution stereo images are captured with line frequencies up to 100 kHz. Depending on the resolution, high transport speeds of more than 10 m/s are possible. Further on, the color line scan cameras with up to 7300 pixels allow a very high lateral resolution.

Depending on the surface texture of the scanned object a height resolution of 1/10 of the lateral resolution is possible. The Chromasens 3D stereo imaging system is based on a modular system concept providing solutions for a wide range of applications.
