Automatic Inspection Systems with Artificial Intelligence

The system can be used to automate high-precision assembly inspection processes, thereby reducing the need for specialized machine operators. Equipped with Omron's proprietary Multi-Direction, Multi-Color (MDMC) imaging technology, the VT-S10 series automatically optimizes illumination angles, colors and light intensity during assembly inspection. It makes it possible to capture solder joints more precisely than with conventional imaging methods and to eliminate the interference caused by shadows from neighboring tall components. Features such as the shape of the electronic components and the soldering points on the circuit board are taken into account. The manufacturer's first tests show that around 70 percent fewer working hours are required to set it up. In addition, the system can use AI to automate inspection processes that previously relied on human senses for quality. This greatly improved the inspection accuracy.
