Online event with lots of interaction and expertise
Although the MVTec Innovation Day 2021 took place completely digitally on February 3, more than 400 participants came. They got to see a full day of technically in-depth presentations on Halcon and Merlic, but also interviews from numerous experts.

MVTec's Innovation Day 2021 took place not as usual at the Munich headquarters, but at the Literaturhaus in the Bavarian capital. More precisely: from the studio there, from which the team around Managing Director Dr. Olaf Munkelt broadcast the lectures, interviews and technology presentations. However, the high effort - the costs were similar to those of the on-site counterpart - was worth it: With over 400 registrations, twice as many people attended as last year, when everyone had to travel to southern Germany by train, car or plane.
In addition to many presentations on the Halcon and Merlic software packages, there were also guest speakers from Sick and MST Vision. In addition, there were interviews and demo presentations, most of which were broadcast directly from the studio. In addition, the participants could also become active: In addition to the opportunity to ask questions about presentations and participate in surveys, there were group video chats or 1:1 video meetings with speakers or other experts. In addition, there were virtual standing tables that attendees could easily join to make the chance acquaintances that are so important at face-to-face events. A smartphone app with a chat function made it even easier.
"The digital format worked perfectly for our annual event highlight, the MVTec Innovation Day, under the given circumstances. The large number of participants and the positive feedback showed that our customers and partners are also engaged in a lively exchange virtually and that the innovations on display offer visible added value for customers," says a pleased Dr. Olaf Munkelt.
