Igus will acquire Krott Electronic GmbH of Stolberg effective October 1, 2026, thereby strengthening its expertise in custom connection technology for demanding industrial applications. The goal is to offer integrated system solutions for shore power supply, charging infrastructure, and niche industrial applications where high power must be reliably transmitted under harsh environmental conditions.

Igus has been developing energy chain systems and cables for continuous motion for over 60 years. With this acquisition, the company is expanding its systems business, particularly in the area of shore power, such as for container ships and cruise ships. Krott Electronic brings expertise in connector systems, connection enclosures, and custom assembly for low- and medium-voltage applications, fiber optics, data communication, and ATEX-certified products.

Krott Electronic will be integrated into igus SE & Co. KG. Jan Krott, the former managing director, will take over as head of the new Special Solutions Connection Technology division, and the employees will transfer to igus.
