A total of ten Neura Gyms are in the planning stages, five of which are scheduled to be operational by the end of 2026 in Europe, the U.S., and China. In addition to the facility in Aachen, another German center—the Tum RoboGym at Munich Airport—is being established in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich and its Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence.

Neura Gyms address the shortage of real-world training data for intelligent robotics. At these facilities, cognitive and humanoid robots train under real-world conditions, supplemented by high-resolution simulations. The resulting datasets are fed into the open, cloud-based Neuraverse platform, through which industry partners can test and validate robots for specific applications.

In Aachen, approximately 20 RWTH institutes are involved to support research, AI-based training, and industrial testing, particularly in the fields of manufacturing, the automotive industry, the circular economy, and medical technology.
