The sensor manufacturer Leuze Electronic is now dispensing with the second part of its name and is now known only as "Leuze". This shorter brand name sounds "clear, innovative, focused, self-confident", the company explains the step. The name of the company remains as it is: Leuze electronic GmbH + Co. KG.

Moreover, Leuze at least gave an impression of the business year: In 2019, the company's turnover increased by a mid-single-digit percentage, the sensor manufacturer announced.

Shift system maintains full production

The company also sees itself well positioned for growth this year, as it continues to produce at full capacity even during the corona crisis. This is made possible by an alternating shift system, which allows all employees to do their work, but not to meet face to face. "Of course, we are also currently feeling the effects of the corona crisis," says Ulrich Balbach, Managing Director of Leuze. "But fortunately, at our locations around the world, they are not occurring at the same time and with the same intensity," he explains.

The family-owned company has therefore been producing at maximum capacity and filling its warehouses for short periods in order to remain able to deliver. This calculation worked out: Customers and suppliers worldwide received their orders almost without delay. The positive figures make it possible to make all investments in global structures as planned. The construction of the new distribution center in Unterlenningen near the company headquarters is also progressing rapidly. Its completion and start-up are scheduled for July.
