Körber Acquires Seidenader Maschinenbau

Seidenader is a leading manufacturers of inspection machines, software and vision applications for pharmaceutical production. Körber AG is using this acquisition to boost its fast-growing Pharmaceutical Packaging Systems Division headed by Körber Medipak.

Körber Medipak is a supplier of comprehensive packaging systems for the pharmaceutical industry, and acts as a one-stop-shop for packaging and automation solutions for different medical dosage forms. Seidenader's inspection systems for the healthcare industry represent an important and trendsetting addition to the spectrum of services offered by the Körber Medipak Group.

Seidenader has 365 employees in Germany and the U.S. The company has grown fast in recent years, and its sales currently amount to around €55 million. The two previous Managing Partners, Nikolaus Seidenader and Volker Wedershoven, will continue to head the company as Managing Directors.

"Seidenader dovetails perfectly with Körber Medipak's companies. The Körber Group is an international technology group with some 9,500 employees around the world. Sales in the year 2009 totaled €1.6 billion. Körber Medipak GmbH is the lead company of the Körber Group's Pharmaceutical Packaging Systems Division. With its 966 employees, Körber Medipak generated sales of €132 million in the 2009 financial year.
