As part of the Vision Start-up World 2024, young companies had the opportunity to distinguish themselves in pitch sessions. The start-up of the day was chosen from the participating innovators every day; a jury awarded the overall winner from among the best of the day. The title "Vision Start-up 2024" went to the French company Viziotix. Viziotix impressed with software that turns all devices with a camera into barcode scanners, including smartphones, robots and drones. The software also detects damaged barcodes safely and quickly. "It is a completely new solution. The first applications are already running and the reviews are extremely positive. That's why we chose Viziotix," explains jury member Martin Klenke, Director of Business Development at Teledyne Imaging.

Two companies won on the first day of the trade fair: Medabsy from Dingolfing and PxE Holographic Imaging from Israel. Medabsy showed how inspections are planned with digital twins and synthetic images are generated as training data for AI applications. "In this way, project times and costs are significantly reduced," said jury member Mark Williamson, Chairman of the Board of VDMA Machine Vision. PxE Holographic Imaging scored with a technology that uses a standard 2D camera to capture and merge high-resolution color images, infrared images and depth maps. "Scaling opens up many applications that can replace conventional 3D camera technologies," said Williamson, explaining the choice of the second day's winner.

On the third day of the trade fair, automation specialists Orama Solutions LLP from New Delhi were awarded Orama-I, a "no-code" interface for inspection. "With Orama-I, end-to-end solutions can be created without any knowledge of image processing or programming," said Donato Montanari, Vice President and Managing Director of the Machine Vision division at Zebra Technologies, describing the award-winning solution.
