Igus has acquired Elko Verbindungstechnik GmbH in order to expand its assembly capacities in drive technology and to increase its proximity to customers in southern Germany. This acquisition enables Igus to offer customized cables for moving applications even faster. With almost 6,000 assembled cables for energy chains, Igus offers solutions for a wide range of applications, supported by extensive testing and over 25 years of experience.

The Kirchheim am Neckar location offers good conditions for regional customer proximity and better service. Michael Blass, Managing Director E-Chain Systems at Igus, emphasizes that the proximity to customers in southern Germany allows faster and more flexible adaptation to individual customer needs. Christian Stremlau, Head of readychain & readycable, emphasizes the importance of the specific requirements of each application when choosing the optimal cable.

With the acquisition of Elko, Igus is expanding its production capacities with more space and automated processes, which will lead to shorter lead times and stable prices. According to a spokesperson, the merger will strengthen both companies.
