Twincat supports the S7 communication protocol

Twincat 3 offers many options for connecting TCP / IP-based third-party systems to the control program: OPC UA, MQTT, HTTPS and Modbus are just a few prominent representatives of a whole range of communication protocols. With the TwinCAT S7 Communication (TF6620) function, this broad spectrum is now being expanded by the S7 communication protocol.

With the help of this product implementation, variables of an S7 controller can be read out or written. This is done directly from the PLC application program - either via dynamically parameterizable PLC function blocks or via an easy-to-configure I / O mapping. No additional hardware is required; the local network via TCP / IP serves as the transport medium.
