Large transmitted-light mechanical stage for screening tasks

Even applications with a large number of samples and high-throughput processes get by with just a few loading cycles. Up to 12 well plates can be placed over the extraordinarily large transmitted light of 400 mm with a travel distance of 350 mm. Transilluminating the samples from below ensures perfect screening of bioreactions.

A repeatability of ±0.15 µm in straightness and flatness is achieved through the use of polished cross roller guides and ground table tops. Thanks to this high level of precision, only minor refocusing is required, even with optics with a very short focal length. The ironless linear motor guarantees a sensitive drive without any disruptive influence on the process parameters. At the same time, the linear motor ensures high dynamics. Accelerations of up to 3 m/s2 and top speeds of 500 mm/s guarantee short scan times, and extremely fast scan results are also achieved in start-stop mode. For the same acceleration values in X and Y, double motors can optionally be used in the lower axis. The internal feedback system with a resolution of 0.1 µm and therefore possible positioning steps of 0.3 µm allows the use of optics with the highest resolution even when using micro-wells.
