Programming environment for robotics and CNC technologies

Although the programming of G-codes makes it possible to set up the machining center relatively quickly, the speed advantage was lost if the machine operator also had to learn the script-based programming language of robotics. Mitsubishi Electric has combined these two previously separate areas of automation with the new Direct Robot Control for its MELFA robot family.

With this direct robot control, the robot and CNC are no longer programmed separately, but the robot can be programmed itself using G codes in the CNC machining center. The robot is therefore considered as another part of the machining job. It can even be moved with the hand wheel of the machine. All robot and CNC alarms and warnings are also recorded in the same log file.
