Generationenwechsel bei Mahr
Firmenchef Stephan Gais gibt den Staffelstab ab und wechselt als Mitglied in den Beirat.
After almost thirty years at Mahr, Stephan Gais, chief executive officer and shareholder, has left the management board at the end of June. He thus ended his operational activities for the family-owned company. “Much has happened in three decades,” summarized Gais when he said goodbye to the employees at a staff meeting in mid-June. “Together, we have achieved a lot: Mahr has an excellent name with customers all over the world and our portfolio is positioned for the future,” said Gais.

A new phase of life awaits the great-great-grandson of company founder Carl Mahr, in which he expects to have “more time for family”. Nevertheless, he does not want to talk about retirement and assures with a smile: “I’m not going to sit back and grow orchids.” Stephan Gais will remain a member of the advisory board of the family company, which was founded in 1861 and has its headquarters in Goettingen. He will thus continue to be the face of the Mahr family for the employees and for the management. In his new role, Stephan Gais wants to ensure that the values of the founding family continue to be lived.
As the new chief executive officer of the Mahr group, Manuel Huesken has taken over starting July. He leads the company together with his management colleagues Udo Erath (COO) and Dr Lutz Aschke (CFO / CIO) on an equal footing and act as spokesman for the management board. The three remaining company heads now have the responsible task of implementing the newly developed strategy of the group. “As a family-owned technology company, Mahr stands for trust and sustainability. We want to live up to this claim towards our employees at all locations and our customers worldwide and thereby lay the foundation for strong growth,” said Huesken. (Source: Mahr)
