Change in the Carl Zeiss Executive Board
Head of Human Resources Susan-Stefanie Breitkopf becomes a member of the Executive Board, Consumer division head leaves
Carl Zeiss is expanding its Executive Board team to include the position of Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), for which Susan-Stefanie Breitkopf (53) has been appointed. She has been Head of Corporate Human Resources since 2021. Previously, she was Managing Director and Labor Director at the Currenta Group. Before her career in industry, Breitkopf, who has a degree in law, worked as a specialist attorney for labor law.
Dr. Matthias Metz (51), on the other hand, has decided to step down from the Executive Board. He has been a member of the Management Board since June 2015 and is responsible for the Consumer Markets division. He will take over as CEO of BSH Hausgeräte on October 1, 2022.
He will be succeeded by Sven Hermann (47), effective July 1, 2022. Hermann is currently Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of the Zeiss Vision Care business unit. In 2014, he became CFO of the Zeiss Vision Care division and has been Chief Sales & Marketing Officer since 2015.
