Support for flexible cable routing using GMSL2 protocol

Framos

Framos introduces a technology for transmitting camera data over a single coaxial cable using the GMSL2 protocol on the Jetson AGX Xavier platform.

Camera developers will be able to use the flexible GMSL2 technology with the Sensor Module Ecosystem for image sensors that achieve 8 MP resolution at 30 fps and transmit image data with cable lengths up to 15 meters. Developers benefit from the entire ecosystem and the wide range of supported sensors. They can quickly create a proof of concept for automotive applications and whenever a sensor module needs to be placed in a confined space, such as in ATMs, quick service restaurant menu displays, or POS self checkouts. Here, the sensor module is placed separately from the camera processor and reconnected via a longer cable.

Other applications, for example machines and devices in agriculture, large drones as well as robots in logistics also benefit from the reliable bidirectional GMSL2 high-speed data transmission, which complies with automotive standards.
