Clock generator for flow turbines

Ephy-Mess

Ephy-Mess developed the temperature sensor system including the rotary value / clock generator for a current turbine test stand for ocean and tidal current systems. The temperature of the roller bearings and the planetary gear should be determined at four measuring points.

The challenge was to attach the sensors to the static gear parts with a circumference of approx. 2 meters and the fact that the measuring points are bathed in oil. Both the tooth geometry of the shaft to be scanned and the perfect detection of very low shaft speeds were safely mastered. Thanks to the modular principle and in-house housing production, this adaptation could be implemented in the shortest possible time. The electronics of the clock generator have a threaded sleeve housing instead of a flange housing. The normally axially outgoing connection line was placed on the side. This saves more than 20 mm in length and thus meets all of the customer's requirements.
