Atlas Copco introduces new CEO

22.01.2024 - As of May 1st, Vagner Rego will take over the position of President and CEO at Atlas Copco. He succeeds Mats Rahmström.

The board of directors of Atlas Copco AB, based in Nacka, Sweden, has appointed Vagner Rego as the group's future president and CEO. Rego will take up his new position on May 1st. He succeeds Mats Rahmström, who has successfully led Atlas Copco since 2017 and will be leaving the company at his own request.

Vagner Rego is a native of Brazil. He started his career at Atlas Copco in his home country in 1996. He is currently one of Rahmström's four deputies on the board of the listed company. At the same time, he has headed the Compressor Technology division since 2017.

Vagner Rego was born in 1972. He began training as an engineer at Atlas Copco in Brazil. In 2006 he took over management of the service division in compressor technology in Brazil. In 2010, Rego moved to the compressor technology headquarters in Belgium, from where he was responsible for the global success of the service division in compressor technology as head of marketing and sales and later as president. In the meantime, he also managed the Power Technique customer center in Brazil.

Rego studied mechanical engineering in Brazil at Mackenzie University and also holds an MBA from Ibmec Business School. As CEO, he will work from Stockholm in the future.
