Edmund Optics and Schott extend partnership to China

19.10.2022 - Easy access to optical filter glass and minimal lead times for Asian customers

Edmund Optics and Schott have expanded their strategic partnership to offer customers in Asia easier access to high quality optical filter glass. Local inventory reduces lead time of standard filter types and sizes, while regional support simplifies the sourcing process of custom filters tailored to specific applications.

Edmund Optics and Schott formed their partnership in 2020 to provide faster and even easier access to Schott materials in Europe. The current expansion of the partnership opens up these advantages to customers in China and Asia as a whole. Local inventory and flexible solutions offer designers of optics systems greatly reduced lead times, a wide range of standard products to choose from, and easy customization of filters to meet individual requirements. Through the partnership, both Edmund Optics and Schott will have the opportunity to leverage each other's supply chains and distribution network, leading to a significant increase in efficiency in serving the filter glass market in China.

58 filter glass types from Schott are in stock and available in round or square dimensions of 12.5 mm, 25 mm and 50 mm. Custom sizes can be cut for special requirements. Colored glass filters are lower-cost alternatives to thin-film coated filters and are ideal for many microscopy systems, portable life science devices, and industrial metrology. The performance of colored glass filters is also less dependent on angle of incidence and polarization.
