Excelitas Technologies acquires German camera manufacturer PCO
Cameras for industry and research
PCO employs around 100 people at its headquarters in Kelheim as well as in Singapore, China, Canada and the USA. The sites, including production at the headquarters, are to remain in operation.
Luitpold Kaspar, COO of PCO, states: "We are very proud of our technological leadership in the development of scientific CMOS cameras. We see this merger as an excellent opportunity to further position our products internationally through Excelitas Technologies' extensive global presence."
The acquisition plans were announced back in June of this year. They join a string of acquisitions by Excelitas:
- 2013: Qioptiq
- 2018: Research Electro Optics
- 2019: Axsun
In 2017, Excelitas itself was acquired by private equity firm AEA Investors.
