New CEO for Exail’s photonics business line

23.01.2025 - High-tech company specializing in the design and manufacturing of cutting-edge photonics components promotes Bruno Desruelle effective 14 January 2025.

Bruno Desruelle brings extensive expertise in photonics and quantum technologies, having played a pivotal role in shaping Exail’s photonics strategy and leading its quantum systems division. As the founder of Muquans, a pioneering quantum technologies start-up integrated into Exail in 2021, Bruno has been instrumental in advancing innovative solutions within the group.

Desruelle’s career spans over a decade of leadership in photonics and quantum innovations. He completed his PhD under the supervision of Alain Aspect, Nobel Prize laureate in Physics 2022, focusing on innovative experimental research in quantum physics. He began his professional journey at Corning Inc, where he specialized in optical telecommunications and doped-fiber amplifiers. He later joined Thales Optronique as a development manager, overseeing the creation of cutting-edge optronic systems. At the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA), he served as a program manager in photonics, contributing to several strategic defense projects. In 2011, he founded Muquans, successfully leading it for over a decade before joining Exail.
