IO-Link community meets for testing
27.10.2022 - In mid-October 2022, over 100 participants (experts and manufacturers) from 37 international companies met for an interoperability workshop in Bad Soden.
The aim of this workshop organized by the IO-Link community was to test the interaction of devices, masters and tools under real practical conditions. This also applies to data transmission and data visibility across all layers up to cloud connections.
During these 2 days, the latest IO-Link device developments were tested with regard to the interface itself and the cross-system integration into various engineering tools.
The various devices show that the IO-Link interface is now also advancing into the areas of controlling actuators and hand-held operating devices and has meanwhile matured into a universal interface. An automated test system for testing the IO-Link JSON REST interface was shown for the first time in Bad Soden. In addition, the IO-Link physics can also be checked automatically using a tester.
The experts from the community were always available to answer any questions about implementation and operation. As always, there was plenty of room for suggestions and a lively exchange of experiences between users. This helps to identify errors and weak points in product developments and, ideally, to find a possible solution on site.
