FFL elects new board

28.03.2025 - Circle of Friends and Supporters of Laser Technology decides on pioneering measures to strengthen the association for the coming years.

The Förder- und Freundeskreis für den Ausbau der Lasertechnologie an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg e.V. has elected a board of directors for the term of office until 2027. The new chairman is Prof Dr-Ing Thomas Frick from Nuremberg Institute of Technology. At his side, Frank Brunnecker from Evosys Laser will take over the position of deputy chairman. The other board members are Dr Sebastian-Paul Kopp from the chair of photonic technologies at FAU and Dr Stephan Roth from the Bavarian Laser Center.

At the constituent meeting, strategic measures and priorities were discussed to make the association fit for the future after more than thirty years of successful activity. Particular attention will be paid to the targeted work and promotion of young talent in the field of laser technology. In addition, further companies are to be recruited to join the association. The promotion of outstanding achievements in the form of awards, such as the LANE Best Presentation Award, is also to be intensified.

“I am delighted that we can set the course for the future of the association with a new, dynamic board,” says Thomas Frick. “This will enable us to strengthen the metropolitan region in the field of laser technology in the coming years.”
