Basler grows strongly in the first half of 2022
Turnover growth of 14 percent to 130.8 million euro
Order intake fell slightly by 3 percent to 147.9 million euros compared to the first half of 2021 (same period of the previous year: 152.4 million euro). Turnover for the full year 2021 was 214.7 million euros. Profit before tax decreased by 6 million euros to 14.8 million euro compared to the previous year (same period of the previous year: 20.8 million euro). Basler is targeting an average growth in turnover of 15 percent per year.
The Basler Group has completed the first six months of fiscal year 2022 in line with its growth forecast. Despite declining incoming orders, loosening demand risks in China and a slowing economy, the management is fundamentally optimistic about the rest of the year. The order backlog of around 145 million euro leads to a strong demand situation in the coming quarters.
Turnover in the second half of the financial year depends mainly on the delivery situation of critical semiconductor components. In order to adequately take into account the aforementioned risks, the management is sticking to its forecast until further notice, even though the business level in the first half of the year was at the upper end of the forecast corridor. This assumes a group turnover between 235 and 265 million euro with a pre-tax return between 9 percent and 12 percent.
Basler also wants to take a stake in the distribution business of its long-standing partner I2S. It has already taken over this from its Italian distribution partner Advanced Technologies S.p.a..
