Basler Vision Technologies will present several new camera models at Vision 2009. Highlights will be the ground-breaking ace GigE camera series and new models in the aviator camera series.

Basler launches a new series of ground-breaking industrial Gigabit Ethernet cameras, the ace series. These cameras are designed to meet the cost demands of analog users, while offering all of the technological advantages of a digital camera. The cameras provide an extremely small footprint, which will probably make them the smallest GigE cameras in their class. They have Power over Ethernet, high-performance features, and are very easy to integrate on the hardware and software side. The ace series will initially consist of four CCD camera models in monochrome and color with resolutions from VGA to two megapixels.

Basler recently began series production of its aviator area scan camera family starting with one megapixel resolution models that have 120 frames per second speed. Two new aviator models, with two megapixel resolution and up to 65 frames per second speed, will make their first appearance at the Vision show. Basler aviator cameras offer excellent imaging results in terms of dynamic range and noise level at an extremely attractive price point.

The aviator is one of the first Camera Link camera that offers a GenICam compliant C/C++ high level programming API. The API is based on Basler's popular pylon software package, a product that has already seen highly successful use with Basler's mainstream IEEE 1394b and Gigabit Ethernet cameras.

In addition to these innovations, Basler will display its entire range of cameras at the show booth. A major attraction will be the total of 70 models included in the scout, scout light, and pilot area scan camera series that have been implemented in thousands of applications worldwide. These cameras are well-known for their excellent image quality and great price/performance ratio. The cameras can be easily operated and configured via Basler's pylon driver package and SDK, which is available for Windows and Linux in 32 and 64 bit versions.
Line scan camera highlights will be the runner and sprint cameras, which will be shown in a "live" demo. The runner series includes seven models with 1k and 2k CCD sensors and a Gigabit Ethernet interface. The sprint series comes in 2k, 4k, and 8k resolutions with currently unmatched speeds of up to 140 kHz (2k, 4k) or 70 kHz (8k) via a Camera Link interface. Basler sprint cameras exhibit outstanding performance in high-speed applications or where light is limited. The unique dual line CMOS sensor provides outstanding sensitivity and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. (Vision 2009: Hall 4, Booth 4B59)
