Web design tool for active energy management systems

To simplify the tailor-made design, Michael Koch presents a web tool for application engineering.

The tool, called Pxt design portal, enables users to get a first impression of what a technical solution with the active energy management systems of the Pxt family can look like for the respective specific application. In the Pxt design portal , the user can design the most common applications of the active energy management systems from Koch's Pxt family. On the one hand, this involves the management or recuperation of braking energy to increase the energy efficiency of the drives and thus of the machine. On the other hand, the use of the Pxt systems as a short-term UPS to protect against voltage fluctuations and power failures can be calculated. In this case, it can also be a matter of longer-lasting power supply with planned disconnection from the grid.

In addition, the user can design the peak load reduction feature, which is becoming increasingly important, to limit the power drawn from the supply network to suit his specific application. It is helpful that the Pxt system itself allows the mains current to be limited to the exact ampere. After selecting the desired use case, the user can enter the required application data. Essentially, it is always about data on services and times. On this basis, the tool automatically determines an efficient proposal for assembling a system from the devices of the modular Pxt family and the associated memory modules. Information on the dimensions and weight of the identified system is also provided to give the user an idea of the likely space requirements of the proposed solution. The user then has the opportunity to supplement his entries with further detailed information about his application and to send this directly to Koch's application engineering team as a non-binding request.
