Point Grey Adds 9.1 MP CCD Model to GigE Vision PoE Camera Line

Point Grey announced the addition of a new 9.1 MP CCD model to its Grasshopper3 GigE Vision PoE camera line. The Grasshopper3 GS3-PGE-91S6 models are based on color and monochrome versions of the 1" Sony ICX814 global shutter CCD sensor, which features 3.69 micron pixels and 3376 x 2704 pixel resolution. The ICX814 device utilizes Sony's EXview HAD CCD II pixel architecture, improving quantum efficiency and near infrared response. With its high resolution CCD image quality, high dynamic range, and GigE interface, the Grasshopper3 is well suited for a wide variety of demanding applications including flat panel inspection, 3D measurement, ophthalmology, life sciences, and intelligent traffic systems.

"With the introduction of the GS3-PGE-91S6 model the Grasshopper3 GigE PoE family continues to grow with more high performance sensor offerings," says Michael Gibbons, Director of Sales and Marketing at Point Grey. "Customers with applications that require longer cable distances up to 100 meters now have more camera models to choose from. In addition, this model offers a more competitive price compared to other competing products using the same sensor."

The Grasshopper3 GS3-PGE-91S6 is list priced at $3495/€2695 and is available to order now from Point Grey, its network of distributors, and the online store (for North American, EU and Australian customers).
