Matrox Iris GT Smart Camera Offers 5 Megapixel Sensor
Matrox Imaging is announcing that the Matrox Iris GT smart camera now offers a model with a 5 Megapixel monochrome CCD sensor. A high resolution sensor, like the one found on the Matrox Iris GT5000, is required to accurately inspect larger parts and packages. Matrox Iris GT5000 is the highest resolution version of the Iris GT smart camera available today.
The Sony ICX625AL 2/3” monochrome CCD sensor on the Matrox Iris GT5000 is 2448 x 2050 pixels @ 15 fps. Powered by an Intel Atom 1.6 GHz processor, Matrox Iris GT runs Windows CE 6.0 or Windows XPe and features an integrated graphics controller with VGA output, 512 MB DDR2 memory, and a 2 GB flash disk. Like other sensor configurations, Matrox Iris GT5000 is housed in a sturdy, dust-proof and washable IP67-rated casing.
Matrox Iris GT is available either with the Matrox Design Assistant interactive development environment (bundled with each unit) or with the Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) (sold separately).
Matrox Design Assistant
In the Matrox Design Assistant environment, users interactively create a flowchart of the application instead of programming or scripting. Each flowchart "step" translates into an instruction for the Matrox Iris GT camera to capture, locate measure, read, communicate, and interact with other devices. Matrox Design Assistant offers all required vision tools for most applications with the same reliability and robustness as MIL. Matrox Design Assistant's integrated HTML editor and layout tool gives users the flexibility to create a custom web-based operator view for monitoring the application.
Matrox Imaging Library
Matrox MIL is a comprehensive collection of software tools for developing industrial imaging applications. MIL includes tools for every step in the process: from application feasibility, to prototyping, through to development and ultimately deployment. The toolkit features interactive software and programming functions for image capture, processing, analysis, annotation, display and archiving. These tools are designed to enhance productivity, thereby reducing the time and effort required to bring solutions to market.
Matrox Iris GT5000 will be available at the end of Q2 2011.
