IDS Introduces Robust Industrial Camera with Gigabit Ethernet Interface, PoE and GPIOs

IDS expand its industrial camera portfolio with a new version of the well proven and extremely robust GigE uEye RE camera series. The new models now offer Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) functionality: With PoE, both power supply and data transfer can be assured by a single cable and cameras can therefore be used much more flexible and integrated in many different systems.

The GigE uEye RE with PoE is perfectly suited for a widely diverse range of uses in harsh industrial environments. This is assured by the lockable, dust-tight, spray- and water-resistant M12 circular connector which conforms to IP67, optically decoupled digital I/Os as well as two general Purpose I/Os. The camera also offers an I2C bus for triggering peripherial devices. In combination with protective tubes, the camera complies with protection classes IP65 and IP67.

Like all IDS GigE Cameras, the GigE uEye RE with PoE also offers USB style Plug&Play. A uEye GigE camera periodically sends out a heartbeat which is recognized by the host PC. The camera is then added to the IDS camera manager and immediately ready to use.

Whether standard or PoE models: The GigE uEye RE is the perfect choice for applications within harsh industrial environments, e.g. automotive industry, automation or casting industry.

The GigE uEye RE will be available in February 2013.
