Code Reader Standard for Tracking & Tracing
Required reading speeds, enclosure rating adapted to the respective use, available space parameters, different marking technologies - when observing these secondary conditions across various industries, one realizes just how considerably different the demands on industrial identification technology may be. In dialog with users from the most divergent spheres, Sick has taken up customers' varied requirements. Therefore, "clever, simple, and industrial" is the motto implemented in the image-processing code readers of the Lector620 series. This applies to all Lector variant types: the basic "Eco" variant, "Standard" as the device for rapid implementation of universal applications, "High Speed" for high-speed solutions, among other things, in packaging or document handling as well as "DPM" for markings applied directly.
A load of performance features
The smaller the better - the compact metal housing with an IP65 (or optionally, IP67) enclosure rating is up to two thirds smaller than others 2D code readers. The field of view covering 43 x 67 mm² provides a depth of field of 50 mm at a reading distance of 100 mm. A real highlight, the Lector620 series offers real-time decoding of all images captured with a frequency of 60 Hz. This improves decoding performance and thus timely detection and elimination of reading problems.
Operation of the Lector620 code readers is intuitive. In addition to the laser-based alignment assistance, the features ensuring this result are parameterization at the push of a button and an LED-display on the device. Depending on the requirements, it is also possible to set up various operating levels on the operator interface. The means of IT integration are also diverse: With Ethernet TCP/IP, FTP, Ethernet IP, Profinet, CAN, RS 232/422/485, USB, and digital I/Os, all of the relevant data interfaces are available in the Lector620 series.
