Servo motor series with higher nominal torque

B&R Industrial Automation GmbH

B&R is expanding its motor portfolio with the new servo motor series 8LW and 8LS with high torque density. Thanks to an improved design, in connection with the servo amplifiers of the Acopos series, a nominal torque of up to 75% higher than comparable motors is achieved.

The new series are suitable for a connection voltage of 325 or 750 VDC and can be used at heights of up to 4,000 meters. All motors are optionally available as a robust single-cable solution for EnDat 2.2 in conjunction with scalable safety functions and as a two-cable solution for resolver and EnDat 2.2 for all motor sizes.

The motors with protection class IP64 have an electronic nameplate that contains all mechanically and electronically relevant data of the motor. This means that the entire drive train can be identified by the user program. Complex, error-prone parameterization work can be avoided. The commissioning times are shortened considerably. In addition, a simple comparison of the machine configuration in the event of service helps to diagnose incorrect arrangements immediately and minimizes costly downtimes.
